"For more than twenty years, I wore the nurse's cap with pride, delving deep into the complexities of women's health. But amidst the long shifts and sedentary lifestyle, I found myself wrestling with a growing problem — the scales were tipping, and not in my favour. My road back to health wasn't just about changing what was on my plate; it was about changing my life. It meant lacing up trainers, hitting the pavement, and shedding over 20kg in a journey that redefined my relationship with fitness. 2015 marked a turning point. A friend threw me into the deep end of bootcamp training, and suddenly, I was not just running – I was leaping over obstacles and pushing past limits I didn’t even know I had. Those modest 5km jogs? They evolved into 10km triumphs, a collection of medals and muddy memories. Then the world stopped. The pandemic hit, and like many, I stumbled. But, falling off the wagon isn't my style. I rallied, turning my focus to strength and weightlifting, while keeping the running flame burning bright. My comeback on the 10km circuit wasn't just a return; it was a statement. My career took a sharp turn as well. I transformed my personal fitness journey into a professional crusade, earning my qualifications as a level 2 gym instructor and a level 3 personal trainer. Now, at The Angry Vegan Personal Training, with Liam by my side, I’m not just a trainer. I'm a mentor, specializing in strength training for women, especially those navigating the challenges of age and menopause. My nursing knowledge and fitness expertise are a powerful combo. A recent highlight? Training with England’s Strongest Man, Paul Smith. What a journey it's been, and it's far from over. I'm here to guide, inspire, and empower others on their paths to transformation."

"From keeping order in the pulsing heart of nightclubs around the world to mastering the disciplined clang of kettlebells, my journey's been anything but ordinary. Picture this: from a nightclub security manager in 2006, I took a leap. Swapping late nights for early mornings, I dove headfirst into the world of personal training. At first, it was all about classic strength training and bodybuilding – the meat and potatoes of fitness. But then, kettlebells. Those deceptively simple weights became my obsession, and I earned my credentials with the IKFF and World Kettlebell Club. Triathlons also seemed like a good idea at the time – turned out, I swam like a rock and cycled like I had square wheels. But every wrong turn has a right ending. For me, it was Girevoy Sport. I scoured Europe, learning from the best kettlebell gurus, and formed the Yorkshire Kettlebell Team – a squad that dominated the UK and European scene. Change came in 2012. The team split, but the dream lived on. I then hit the marathon trail, from the charming streets of Limassol to the unforgiving Sahara. But, you can’t keep a strongman away from his weights. I ventured into strongman and powerlifting competition, tasting the highs and lows, before hanging up my competitive lifting shoes in 2019. Now, my battlefield is the gym floor, teaching the art of strength training. It’s about getting better, not just older. And while I might not be lifting weights in the competitive ring these days, who says there’s not a comeback in the cards? Masters strongman, watch this space."
